In looking over the vineyards that produced grapes for the 2006 “Legends” blend (2004 vintage), a full 80% is from the very highly regarded Champoux Vineyard near Alderdale, Washington. In addition to Champoux Vineyard, the blend also includes fruit from Sagemoor Vineyard on the slopes of the Columbia River north of Pasco, Klipsun and Tapteil Vineyards in the Red Mountain area, and Woodward Canyon Estate Vineyard in the western Walla Walla Valley.”

This wine reflects the warmth of the 2004 vintage. Beautifully ripe flavors of black fruits and cassis marry with spice and vanilla from new French barrels. The finish is long and generous yet the wine displays restraint and balance. With appropriate cellaring this wine should age well for eight to ten years.
